Fed: Processed goods labelling placing jobs at risk: Oppn

The federal opposition's accused the government of putting the jobs of 250-thousand
people at risk by failing to clarify the labelling on manufactured goods.

Opposition Agriculture spokesman JOHN COBB says while fresh food in supermarkets has
to stipulate where it comes from .. manufactured or processed food is not subject to the
same regulations.

He says the sector employs more than 250-thousand people .. many in regional areas
.. and there's a danger of their jobs going the way as the nation's clothing and manufacturing
sector.
