SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 1998--
Executive Summary
SecureNetworx has released an updated and enhanced version of its full-featured multi-user SecurityNet ACS (Access Control System) software. ACS v2.01 delivers ease-of-use and high-end security features to assist corporate system managers and ISP system managers in the setup and management of remote network access systems and users. New features include re-usable "strong authentication" DigitalTokens, an integrated token server authority which distributes the tokens via the internet, DHCP IP session address allocation, multi-tiered corporate and ISP customer billing, and technical support modules.
Multiple administrators and customer support personnel can simultaneously use the ACS to monitor and manage all remote network access points from a standards-compliant application running under Windows 95, Windows98 or WindowsNT.
SecureNetworx (http://www.secure-networx.com) announces that SecurityNet ACS software version 2.01 is now shipping.
"This powerful and easy to use application sets a new standard for value in network access control," says William J. Casey, Jr., Director of Business Development at SecureNetworx. "SecurityNet ACS protects the integrity of all network access points by adding support for low cost DigitalTokens, our ultra-secure `two-factor' software tokens that produce an unpredictable and unsniffable password for each authentication session.
"DigitalTokens sell for as low as $1 and provide `strong authentication' that can be distributed, retrieved, and re-used by means of an integrated and automated DigitalToken Server which is included as a standard feature of the ACS."
SecurityNet ACS tools running under Windows 95/98 or NT(R) configure the authentication system, automatically assign IP addresses, update the user directory, change authorization parameters, and generate graphs, reports and histograms for all remote access points into the network. ACS reports on all session activity from Radius-enabled access servers, proxies, firewalls, and VPNs (virtual private networks).
ACS can control port utilization, pinpoint unused or underutilized system capacity, and track costs incurred to maintain the network, including personnel, telephone, overhead, equipment, and other fixed and variable costs. These flexible system analysis tools accurately define overall network TCO (total cost of ownership), allocate fixed or pro-rated charges to customers and assist network administrators in planning network growth more effectively.
ACS can be managed by one or more administrators or technical support staff working simultaneously. This ability to concurrently edit user records and update the SQL database minimizes network disruption and maximizes network security. All system activity records, including user authentication, authorization, session accounting, and customer billing information, are stored in the integrated SQL database to facilitate easy and accurate system monitoring and maintenance.
Session data can be quickly and easily filtered, formatted, printed, or exported to other applications to produce timely and accurate reports on system health and integrity.
Flexibility and Ease of Use
"SecureNetworx has undertaken significant market research to assure that the ACS meets current and emerging market requirements. Our analysis convinced us that a value-priced feature-rich application that provides a powerful and easy method to configure and monitor remote access activity was needed to secure internet, extranet, and VPN connections to the network," says Casey.
"SecurityNet ACS v2.01 allows ISP and corporate administrators to simplify user management and network security by using integrated tools like dynamic session IP addressing and DigitalTokens."
SecureNetworx has added thoughtful administration tools that make it easy to add, delete, and/or modify user records. A point and click graphical user interface and on-line context-sensitive help make it very easy to learn how to use these new tools.
In addition, since all controls are centralized under a single application, the network support staff can monitor system activity to uncover trends and changing patterns of network usage. SecurityNet ACS uses matrix-filters to achieve a higher level of granularity and flexibility in the area of report generation.
These powerful SQL query filters make it possible to create virtually unlimited customized graphs and reports from the system and user data generated by the ACS. With this information, administrators can make intelligent decisions on network policies and procedures, and can more easily control overall network costs.
Powerful Access Control
SecurityNet ACS authenticates users based upon individual or group attributes and restrictions, including: -0-
-- PAP authentication -- CHAP authentication -- Digital Token strong authentication -- Network access point -- Login attempts -- Password expiration -- Simultaneous session limits -- Day-date-time restrictions -- Maximum sessions-per-day
Support for Standards
SecurityNet ACS supports current standards and RFCs for security access control and encryption.
